This year will be our 14th kidney walk in memory of my dad. My dad was a type 1 diabetic and also had a MRSA infection around 2005/6. Between the hefty IV antibiotics he was on at home and his body fighting this infection, his kidneys were working in overdrive. February of 2008 my dad was in end stage kidney failure and was requiring hemodialysis 3x/week for 3-4 hours in order to stay alive. He fought a long and tough battle of kidney failure for just under 3 years when he was called up to heaven on feb 3, 2011. My mom and I had previously done multiple different cancer walks, charity walks, including the autism walk and my dad was always upset we had never done a diabetes or kidney walk. So October of 2011 was our first kidney walk to honor him. This October will mark our 12th walk. I can't tell you how much the likes, sharing of the page, commenting on the page, and donations help to spread the word about kidney failure. I hope you will all continue to join us in boston and walk in support of a cause near and dear to our hearts.

WHY I WALK?

I hope you will all continue to join us on to walk in support of a cause near and dear to our hearts. This year we will have a new team member joining our cause 😏
I walk to support the lifechanging work of the National Kidney Foundation:
- To ensure that families will have a place to turn when they need answers.
- To keep up the fight for policy changes to protect kidney patients and living donors.
- To drive innovation in transplantation and get more loved ones off the kidney transplant waitlist.
