WHY I WALK
I walk because too many families (like mine) are coping with this devastating chronic illness, called Alport Syndrome.
This genetic disease has been severely under researched since my father died from this kidney disease in 1960. My son will require a kidney transplant as a result of this disease, along with many other male members of my family.
If you are able, please consider joining us at the walk on October 6th at Assembly Row in Somerville, or possibly support this cause with a donation.
I also walk to support the lifechanging work of the National Kidney Foundation:
- To ensure that families will have a place to turn when they need answers.
- To keep up the fight for policy changes to protect kidney patients and living donors.
- To drive innovation in transplantation and get more loved ones off the kidney transplant waitlist.
PLEASE CONSIDER SUPPORTING MY EFFORTS WITH A DONATION.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
