THIS IS WHY I WALK EVERY YEAR

Kidney disease and the mission of the National Kidney Foundation is very personal to me.  Back in 2006 my Dad was diagnosed with End Stage Renal Disease.  My family had to quickly learn all about kidney failure and dialysis, and then about transplants, the National Kidney Foundation was THE ONLY place where we found information!

It's now been 17 1/2 years since I donated one of my kidneys to my Dad, which gave him so many more years to be with us -  he was able to continue to do all the things he loved and celebrated what he loved with his family. Even though he passed away in 2020, I am continuing our desire to educate and mentor others and part of that is our annual fundraising efforts to support the National Kidney Foundation for the 18th year in a row!  

The National Kidney Foundation has asked me once again to join the Walk Committee to help promote the event and to raise money for all their educational programs and research projects.  I was happy to say YES!  That’s why I’m building a team for the 2024 New York City Kidney Walk,
