Why I Walk

I walk to get back to my high school and young adult roots where I was a  volunteer to help those on dialysis and later became active as we formed the only teen age chapter of the National Kidney Foundation of Southern California and then continued to be active when I moved to Orange County and became active in the Chapter their and then some of my friends will remember when we helped participate in the Disney Film premiers to raise money.   Well the chapters are long gone as are the Film premiers but time to walk a bit and see if I can help again.  Too many families are coping with this devastating chronic illness, and thousands more will face an unexpected kidney disease diagnosis in the year to come.

I walk to support the lifechanging work of the National Kidney Foundation:
     - To ensure that families will have a place to turn when they need answers.
     - To keep up the fight for policy changes to protect kidney patients and living donors.
     - To drive innovation in transplantation and get more loved ones off the kidney transplant waitlist.
