Why I Walk

I walk because too many families (like mine) are coping with this devastating chronic illness, and thousands more will face an unexpected kidney disease diagnosis in the year to come.

At the age of 15, I was forced to face this serious uncurable illness. I had to grow up fast and deal with testing, medication, medical procedures, experimental treatment, and the unknown. Today, through the grace of God, I am living with my second transplant. 

Every day is still a struggle to stay healthy. I depend on several pills to keep my blessing from rejecting. Through it all I try my best to stay positive and keep going forward.
