Why I Walk
Every step I take is for my incredible husband, Benjamin, who has fought so bravely through every challenge life has thrown his way. In 2014, our world changed when he was diagnosed with end-stage renal failure. We faced countless setbacks and heartbreaking "no's," but Benjamin never gave up. He believed in miracles, and so did I.After years of waiting, surgeries, and unwavering faith, in 2019, we received the call that changed everything: a viable kidney was ready for him! The transplant was successful, and today, five years later, his new kidney is still going strong. This journey has been filled with highs and lows, but we are so grateful for every single day together.
I walk to raise awareness for kidney disease and to support the incredible research and resources that give hope to so many. I walk for those who are still waiting for their miracle. I walk for those who have lost their battle but whose spirit continues to inspire us. And I walk with deep gratitude for the community that has supported us with their prayers, love, and donations.
Every step brings us closer to a world where kidney disease is no longer a life sentence. Your support means everything to us, and together, we can make a difference that extends far beyond just our story.
