Why I Walk
In 2014, I was diagnosed with end-stage renal failure and began my journey with peritoneal dialysis. The road wasn't easy, with many highs and lows along the way. Being in my 60s, I faced numerous challenges, including being told I was too old and that my heart wasn't strong enough. But I didn't give up hope.After years of waiting and believing in a miracle, I finally received a new kidney on March 24, 2019. The transplant was a success, and five years later, my "new" kidney is still going strong!
I walk to raise awareness about kidney disease, to support research, and to honor those who are no longer with us. Every step I take is a step towards hope, awareness, and a better future for others on this journey. Your support means the world to me and helps make a difference that extends far beyond just us.
