WHY I WALK: I walk because too many families (like mine) are and have had to cope with this devastating chronic illness, and thousands more will face an unexpected kidney disease diagnosis in the year to come. From having two of my grandparents pass away with kidney disease and being a dialysis nurse, I see both sides of the story. The satisfaction of bringing patients to home dialysis and watching them succeed while continuing to live their lives modified but on their own terms has been amazing!
