Why I Walk
I walk because too many families (like mine) are coping with this devastating chronic illness, and thousands more will face an unexpected kidney disease diagnosis in the year to come.My mom passed away 8 years ago from complications caused by years of diabetes and what it does to the body. I have many friends and family that are walking with disease of diabetes or have passed away. This disease affects more than the person that it is infecting. So, I walk to raise support and awareness for the Kidney foundation and all they do to help those affected by kidney disease.
We would love your support either financially or if you want join us on the walk. This year we get to walk around the beautiful Allianze Field again. If you have not been to the stadium, come check it out and learn more about what the NKF does to support/help those that have been affected by kidney disease.
I walk to support the lifechanging work of the National Kidney Foundation:
- To ensure that families will have a place to turn when they need answers.
- To keep up the fight for policy changes to protect kidney patients and living donors.
- To drive innovation in transplantation and get more loved ones off the kidney transplant waitlist.
