Why We Walk
This year, our team has joined others across the country to fight against kidney disease. On September 29, 2024 we’ll walk for our loved ones, colleagues or friends who cope with this devastating chronic illness each day – and for those who lost their fight too soon.
My family lost my husband's brother, Ian on April 1 2024 from complications of diabetes and his kidney disease. My husband started his dialysis Jan 18 2024. Many of my friends have diabetes and this together is why I have started this team. My photography this year is dedicated to these two men, my sweet husband and his brother Ian. Join our team and help us reach our goal of $1000.
I want to call to attention of everyone that there is an option to waiting upwards of 11 years for a deceased donor. That option is being a living donors. We need everyone to step up and volunteer to be tested (contact me directly for more information) to see if you are a match for my husband. The nice thing is that if the person or people who are tested to be living donor for Kevin and they are not a match, there is an exchange program where that person or people are put on a list and then Kevin will be given a living transplant from someone on that list who is a great match for him. When I heard about this I wanted to get up out of my chair and praise the Lord for such a miraculous program.
Today, I am asking two things, first donate to our team JeanettePhoto.com Kidney Walk 2024. And second contact me directly so I can get the information to you about being tested to be a living donor for my husband Kevin.
Together, we walk to support the life changing work of the National Kidney Foundation:
- To ensure that families will have a place to turn when they need answers.
- To keep up the fight for policy changes to protect kidney patients and living donors.
- To drive innovation in transplantation and get more loved ones off the kidney transplant wait-list.
Will you join us?
Walk with us and fund-raise -or- support our efforts with a generous donation to improve the lives of kidney patients in our community and across the country.
