Why I Walk
As many of you know, my father-in-law, Ed, is currently in need of a kidney transplant. His journey with kidney disease has been a challenging one, and his wait for a matching donor kidney has been long. As we wait for a donor to come forward, I've had the opportunity to see firsthand the impact that kidney disease can have on a family and the importance of finding a cure.Ed is the kind of person who would do anything to help others in need. He's always been there for those around him, offering support and kindness whenever it's needed. As I think about his own journey, I'm reminded of his selfless nature and the unwavering optimism he displays despite the challenges he faces.
That's why I've started this fundraising campaign for the Pittsburgh Kidney Walk. I want to honor Ed by taking action to support those affected by kidney disease. The funds raised through this event will go towards crucial research, education, and patient support services that will make a real difference in the lives of those affected by this disease.
By walking in the Pittsburgh Kidney Walk, I'm not only standing in solidarity with my father-in-law but also with the thousands of individuals who are fighting against kidney disease every day. Every step I take represents hope for a future where no one has to suffer from the challenges of kidney disease.
I'd like to invite you to join me in this effort by sponsoring my walk or making a donation to the National Kidney Foundation. Your support will help bring us closer to a world where no one has to suffer from the challenges of kidney disease.
