WHY I WALK I walk because too many families (like mine) are coping with this devastating chronic illness, and thousands more will face an unexpected kidney disease diagnosis in the year to come. I walk today to honor the legacy of my father Vincent. He fought kidney disease for many years and was a proud transplant survivor. We honor his life and his optimism and we walk to help those who need a kidney in their efforts to find one. We also walk to support the families and caregivers and living donors like me. We lost my father two years ago but his legacy lives on in our hearts.
