WHY I WALK
I walk because too many families (like mine) are coping with this devastating chronic illness, and thousands more will face an unexpected kidney disease diagnosis in the year to come. Living with Kidney Disease isn't easy, and being on dialysis because your kidneys failed isn't easy as well. There are so many life changes that need to me made in order to just live.
I walk to support the lifechanging work of the National Kidney Foundation:
- To ensure that families will have a place to turn when they need answers.
- To keep up the fight for policy changes to protect kidney patients and living donors.
- To drive innovation in transplantation and get more loved ones off the kidney transplant waitlist.
Are you with me? This year I am walking in honor of my donor Lynn Woodall ( 7/29/54 - 1/7/02), my Aunt Carol Soha donor, John (who was a living donor) and my cousin Beth Woodall Kistler donor Markea, who through her generosity of being an organ donor saved my cousin's life on 10/24/23. You can make a difference in someone life by registering to become an organ donor when you renew you driver's license or state ID, or by going to Donate Life America (donatelife.net).
PLEASE CONSIDER SUPPORTING MY EFFORTS WITH A GENEROUS DONATION.
