Why I Walk

I'm a veteran, social worker, pageant queen, and a dual-living organ donor. My experiences have shown me the value of giving to others and the importance of championing for causes that matter are what make a difference in the world. 

I walk because too many families are coping with this devastating chronic illness, and thousands more will face an unexpected kidney disease diagnosis in the year to come.

I walk to support the life-changing work of the National Kidney Foundation:

     - To ensure families have a place to turn when they need answers.

     - To fight for policy changes to protect kidney patients and living 

       donors.

     - To drive innovation in transplantation and get more loved ones off 

        the kidney transplant waitlist.

We're never in the fight alone. But we need advocates like you and me to join together for the change needed. The NKF provides research, programs, and support opportunities to so many people, but we must have the funding.
