Why I Walk
I WALK for my Dad, Glenn Davies Willis, who died of Kidney Disease, November 22, 2023, after being diagnosed 10 months previous. This disease was somewhat maintainable until it wasn't - then it became agressive and took its sad course to its abrupt end, the night before Thanksgiving. My Dad was a young 73 years old, he led such an active life; this disease cut his beautiful life short and we miss him every day.I WALK for those who have also lost their battles with kidney disease. For their families who still mourn their loss.
I WALK for those who treat patients with Kidney Disease; for state of the art equipment, better procedures and the latest advances in medical education to best assist our loved ones with a Kidney Disease diagnosis.
I WALK for those awaiting transplants. For those at the top of the list and for those at the bottom of the growing lists. For those who go through the weekly routines of dialysis visits and the grueling testings in order to further their life quality.
Thank you for supporting the National Kidney Foundation in memory of my Dad. Our Umpa - husband, father and grandfather. We'll love him always.
Please consider supporting my efforts with a generous donation.
