Why I Walk

I have always walked in memory of Frank Roberts - my one-of-a-kind uncle who received his second chance at life in 2010 when Adam, a man he had never met, gifted his kidney to him. Adam gave us another 10 wonderful years with Frankie and he never missed a moment to show or tell his family how much he loved them with a wink, a fist pump or scribbled love notes on a white board. He used to love attending the Kidney Walk and was honored to walk as a Recipient and be a part of the nationwide fight against kidney disease.

This year I walk in Frankie's memory, and I also walk for the funny, kind-hearted, protector, and leader of a man that is his son and my cousin, Matthew Roberts. I walk to continue the fight against kidney disease and to fight for a future of health, family, and happiness for our Matty.
