Caden - of Welsh origin, derived from the name Cadogan, which means "battle-fierce" or "warrior."

Why We Walk

Our son, Caden, was diagnosed with end stage kidney disease at birth. His kidney function declined throughout his first few days and doctors were anticipating that he would need dialysis. Thankfully, things began to improve on their own and it wasn’t needed. Caden spent a total 23 days in the NICU where his kidney function was closely monitored. Since then, his kidneys have remained in stable condition and have continued functioning well enough on their own. However, Caden will eventually require a kidney transplant. 

We walk to support our little kidney warrior and all that he has endured and overcome so far. We walk to support the efforts of the National Kidney Foundation in hopes that the work that they do can provide assistance and support to all affected by kidney disease, like Caden, who will be battling this disease for his entire life.
