WHY I WALK We walk in Memory of Jessie Jackson. She was diagnosed with Kidney Failure at the age of 6 years old. Quickly her life changed and the kidney foundation was a huge part of her life. Jessie spent numerous years on dialysis and on the transplant list. Jessie recieved 6 kidney transplants during her life time. The kidney foundation gave Jessie and her family ease of mind during her life and was truly amazing. Jessie became a mother despite being told children was a bad idea. Jessie had 2 children and thanks to the Kidney foundation she was able to afford her treatments and live to spend time with grandkids. Jessie's favorite color was purple, she loved recesses and pepsi, and her dachshunds. Jessie was very family oriented and loved to bring a smile to peoples faces with her small stature. Jessie was just one kidney patient who was able to live life despite having kidney problems and because of that we walk in her Memory! I walk because too many families (like mine) are coping with this devastating chronic illness, and thousands more will face an unexpected kidney disease diagnosis in the year to come. I walk to support the lifechanging work of the National Kidney Foundation: - To ensure that families will have a place to turn when they need answers. - To keep up the fight for policy changes to protect kidney patients and living donors. - To drive innovation in transplantation and get more loved ones off the kidney transplant waitlist. Are you with me? PLEASE CONSIDER SUPPORTING MY EFFORTS WITH A GENEROUS DONATION.
