WHY I WALK I walk to honor LaTasha Thaxton. My sister/cousin and best friend.......the woman who held many different roles for many different people. Tasha was a rare soul that was fiercely protective of her family and friends and hated to see someone struggling or in pain. I walked with her several years while she fought her kidney disease. I celebrated with her when she received her kidney transplant. I prayed over her when her body began to reject it 2 years later.... and we cried even more when she gained her wings September 27, 2022. This walk meant the world to her and she cherished the connections she made participating in it. So, to honor her, support those who continue to fight, and celebrate those who are winning the battle......I walk.
