Why I Walk
I'm participating in the Kidney Walk because I want to further research, advocate for policy change, and support those facing kidney disease. As a part of my kidney donation in 2024, I learned so much about the grim realities of kidney disease in the US...1. Over 1 in 7 adults in the US (14.29%) have chronic kidney disease.
2. As of 2023, over 800,000 Americans are living with end-stage kidney disease. Sixty-eight percent of these were on dialysis; 32% had a kidney transplant.
3. As of November 2024, 90,323 people were on the waiting list for a kidney transplant in the US.

I walk to support the life-changing work of the National Kidney Foundation, and I'd love for you to consider joining me on Sunday, May 4th, starting at 1 pm at Raccoon River Park in West Des Moines. Whether or not you plan to walk, please consider supporting my efforts with a donation. *Any amount has an impact!*
THANK YOU for your support!
