Why I Walk

i walk because I never knew the impact of seeing what the family members of a kidney patient goes through until I watched my own family members go through it. It’s hard on everyone not just us going through the transplant process but watching your spouse miss work to go to doctor appts and miss your kiddos school activities bc you don’t feel good again or the heartbreak when you don’t get approved the first time you go infront of the committee. This cause is close to my heart and can affect more ppl than anyone realizes. Thank you for all of your support!!
I walk because too many families (like mine) are coping with this devastating chronic illness, and thousands more will face an unexpected kidney disease diagnosis in the year to come.

I walk to support the lifechanging work of the National Kidney Foundation:
     - To ensure that families will have a place to turn when they need answers.
     - To keep up the fight for policy changes to protect kidney patients and living donors.
     - To drive innovation in transplantation and get more loved ones off the kidney transplant waitlist.
