Hello Walkers, I'm Kelsey Richardson 29 years old and I'm a post Kidney Pancreas transplant patient. For years I've battled having Type1 diabetes , gastritis,full time dance student ,starting in the fashion industry plus trying to be a normal teenager/adult and live life . Years went by seen multiple Doctors tried different home remedies literally nothing worked my eye sight was becoming a problem In between then I lost eye sight in my left eye . Finally went to a specialist for every doctor I can name of gastroenterologist and nephrologist. My Endocrinologist I was assign to brought my A1c to "7" from greater than "14" ordered some test ahead of time to figured out what was the common issue it was my kidneys and it immediately started failing after I was told I needed mandatory Dialysis, started dialysis within weeks attended Memorial Herman TMC Hospital classes with my parents , it took a toll on my family and I it was very challenging . On March 5,2020 I got a phone call from my nurse saying they may have found a match could I come in from dialysis to do blood work . Life can be a huge curve ball but when putting God first having a great support system can bring you to the most high . March 6 ,2020 "the day of surgery " I was super nervous some of my family members were able to see me before the surgery started . With the right doctors and nurses as well included in your team you'll be walking and taking steps with in 48hrs just like me . So join us my family and friends on this journey of stepping . I will be starting a Nonprofit Organization for young adults to start taking care of them selves while still being healthy enough to always check and see about you and your generation health or going to the doctor making sure your on top of everything .
