Why We Walk

Hi! We are Team Klickna.

Pat, mother, grandmother, and amazing person developed kidney disease in the early part of 2020 and didn’t know she had the disease.   In July of 2020, she went to the Emergency Room and was told she would have to be admitted because she was in Stage 5 Kidney Disease.

For the next 13 months, she worked with her Nephrologist to try to stop the progression.  She needed to go on dialysis and get on a transplant list because the disease had spread so fast.  Fortunately, her son went through extensive testing and was able to donate his kidney.

This year, her family has joined others throughout the country in the effort to fight against kidney disease.  Pat knows how the people waiting for a kidney transplant feel.  She felt how anxious others feel that are hoping today will be the day they hear they have found a match. 

The Klickna team, all ten of them, have walked and volunteered for the past three years. They know how important it is to help others like their mom and grandma and to support the life-changing work of the National Kidney Foundation.

On October 6, 2024, the date of this year’s Denver Kidney Walk, will be Pat's third anniversary of her transplant!  Please consider supporting those individuals waiting for a kidney transplant.  Thank you.
