Why I Walk

I walk because too many families are coping with this devastating chronic illness, and thousands more will face an unexpected kidney disease diagnosis in the year to come.

I have had the privilege to work with so many inspiring living donors over the years, and it is one of my proudest accomplishments to donate my own kidney in 2023.  My only regret is that I can't donate another, as I kind of need that last one!  I am so grateful to the National Kidney Foundation for all the work they do to help support the community of folks affected by kidney disease.

I walk to support the lifechanging work of the National Kidney Foundation:
     - To ensure that families will have a place to turn when they need answers.
     - To keep up the fight for policy changes to protect kidney patients and living donors.
     - To drive innovation in transplantation and get more loved ones off the kidney transplant waitlist.
