❓❓WHY DO I PARTICIPATE❓❓ 💔 Because too many families (like mine) are coping with this devastating chronic illness, and thousands more will face an unexpected kidney disease diagnosis in the year to come. There are different types of kidney disease. I have inherited Autosomal Dominant Polycystic Kidney Disease. My father died in 2007 after 10 years on dialysis with end stage kidney failure. PKD is a progressive chronic disease with no cure and can be passed from generation to generation. I'm lucky so far. Most people with PKD require dialysis by my age and I'm beyond grateful I'm not there yet! 🙏 🙏 I currently am in stage 3, and sadly this past year on a CT scan, results showed it looks like my youngest daughter also is joining me as a warrior! My hope is that at least during her lifetime, a cure or solid treatment is found. PKD really can't be ruled out for my kids until their mid 30's and I remain hopeful. I walk and fundraise every year to support the lifechanging work of the National Kidney Foundation: - To ensure that families will have a place to turn when they need answers. - To keep up the fight for policy changes to protect kidney patients and living donors. - To drive innovation in transplantation and get more loved ones off the kidney transplant waitlist. -To promote awareness and research. Are you with me? PLEASE CONSIDER SUPPORTING MY EFFORTS WITH A DONATION! Every bit helps!
