Why I Walk

I am a survivor at FSGS (Focal segmental glomeulosclerosis) I was Diagnosed in 2016. It was very hard to accept and I saw the impact it made on my family. I was diagnosed with End Stage Renal Disease January 7th 2024 which put me on Dialysis. I was terrified, my children and my family were terrified for me. I was terrified I wouldn't be around to see my three boys grow up.  

I was fortunate to receive a Kidney Sept 15 2023. I pray that others will be as fortunate as I was. I want to help others fight Kidney disease and raise awareness. Dialysis is not a joke. Its a life changing process. It drains a body, you don't feel hopeful and worst of all your dependent on a machine to live and you have no idea when that machine is no longer enough. So I walk for all those that are going through this. I walk for those that are battling to live for their families. I walk because I was blessed and I want to show my support for others in a time where there are so many fears and uncertainties. I walk to show there is hope.
