We have been a part of the Kidney Walk for over 10 years in support of my family who suffer with Polycystic Kidney Disease . We have family members that Unfortunately have lost their battle to this disease which is hereditary. It has been a struggle for our family losing people we love dearly but we are grateful that some have been able to have a successful Kidney transplant and are doing well. This has affected me personally since my Father had to have both of his kidneys removed and almost lost his life while trying to recuperate. We were in disbelief when the Doctor told us the size of his kidneys. Imagine a normal kidney is about 5 inches and my fathers were so enlarged 1 kidney weighed 17pds and the other 20 and when they were tested it showed cancerous cysts on them which meant he had to be tested every few months for a year to be eligible for a transplant. We ran into complications with Insurance covering a living donor and a few other things and that's when I contacted the National Kidney Foundation and they were able to guide us into the right direction. From the programs they have available to the families that can share stories so you don't feel alone or confused plus the screenings and all the information they have a available to you is the reason why I help raise money and bring awareness to as many people as possible so they can get tested and take care of their Kidneys.
A year after my Dad's 1st surgery we were able to move forward with the Kidney transplant and the best part about it was that My mom was able to save his life by giving him 1 of her kidneys. I can't ever thank all our friends and family enough for all their love and support throughout this journey and still for the continuous support with all your donations throughout the years.
Come join as we walk on Sunday November 13th @ 09:30 am. Lace up and wear something orange to show support, I will be posting more details soon! Please donate online and remember No amount is too small !!!

Why I Walk
I walk because too many families (like mine) are coping with this devastating chronic illness, and thousands more will face an unexpected kidney disease diagnosis in the year to come.I walk to support the lifechanging work of the National Kidney Foundation:
- To ensure that families will have a place to turn when they need answers.
- To keep up the fight for policy changes to protect kidney patients and living donors.
- To drive innovation in transplantation and get more loved ones off the kidney transplant waitlist.
Are you with me?
Please consider supporting my efforts with a generous donation.
