Why I Walk 
I walk to support to help families like mine cope with this devastating illness.  The National Kidney Foundation provides a place for people to turn to for much-needed information. They support policy changes that protect kidney patients and living donors. The foundation drives innovation in transplantation to shorten the kidney transplant waitlist. Nearly 100,000 Americans are on the waiting list for a kidney transplant, and about 12 people die each day waiting for a kidney transplant. Kidney disease is the silent killer because symptoms don't appear until the situation is dire. Make testing your kidney function a part of your regular medical care. Thousands of people will face a kidney disease diagnosis in the year to come.
