Why I Walk
I walk because by God's mercy and grace, I CAN!! Once upon a time, not so long ago, I could barely walk 10 steps without getting immensely exhausted due to kidney failure and 4.5 years of dialysis treatments.
I walk because too many families (like mine) are coping with this devastating chronic illness, and thousands more will face an unexpected kidney disease diagnosis in the year to come.
I walk to support the life changing work of the National Kidney Foundation:
- To ensure that families will have a place to turn when they need answers.
- To keep up the fight for policy changes to protect kidney patients and living donors.
- To drive innovation in transplantation and get more loved ones off the kidney transplant waitlist.
My motivation for walking is to continue be a VOICE for those living with kidney disease and failure. I'm here and living today thanks to a kidney donation from a wonderful young man who passed away, but elected to donate his organs so others' could have a greater quality of life. But more importantly, I would be remiss if I did shout out to the world that God used this organ to manifest HIS miracle in my life!
Thus... MY STORY FOR HIS GLORY!!
Are you with me?
Please consider supporting my efforts with prayer for the National Kidney Foundation, prayer for those with with kidney disease, and a generous donation to this wonderful cause.
May God bless you and smile upon you greatly!
Naomi
