Why I Walk --  

I walk in memory of my mother, Wanda E. McCormac --- one of the kindest, gentlest and yet toughest women I have ever known. I miss her everyday and try to take things in stride. as she did. Living 95 years calls for some serious chill. 
I walk for all those dealing with all the crap, complications, pain and suffering that comes with kidney disease.
I walk to help make sure that EVERYONE has the information they need to make the treatment choices that are right for them. 
I walk in honor of my colleague, Amy Hewitt, who walks the talk -- becoming a living donor in March this year --- making sure that Wilson Du, Renal Warrior, and all around hero human being, got a kidney that was right for him. Here's to long and healthy lives for both of them!
I walk because I CAN --- lucky enough to still have my wits (and joints) about me and not wanting to collect regrets to leaf through in my old age (if I get there!).
