Why
I walk because I have been a kidney patient over 28 years and have had my second kidney transplant for over 10 years. I am a supporter of the NKF and have served as a volunteer with the Northern California branch. This year's Kidney Walk is being held on Sunday, September 18, 2022 in San Francisco at Justin Herman Plaza in the Embarcadero. It is being combined with the SF Kidney Walk, Silicon Valley Walk and East Bay Walk into one walk for all three events. It is in person after two years of virtual fundraising.
The NFK is dedicated to raising funds to help support kidney patients and their caregivers, educate the public about kidney disease and encourage research for cures and treatments.
About 1 out of 3 people are at risk for kidney disease and many have no idea they may have it. Two major causes are diabetes and high blood pressure. Many of us may know someone who is already a kidney patient or someone who could be at risk.
I am asking my family, friends and others to consider making a donation to help kidney patients and to show support. Any dollar amount is acceptable and will be gladly appreciated.
I am offering my sincerest thanks in advance.
Please consider supporting my efforts with a generous donation.
