Why I Walk

I walk because too many families (like mine) are coping with this devastating chronic illness, and thousands more will face an unexpected kidney disease diagnosis in the year to come.

I walk to support the lifechanging work of the National Kidney Foundation:
     - To ensure that families will have a place to turn when they need answers.
     - To keep up the fight for policy changes to protect kidney patients and living donors.
     - To drive innovation in transplantation and get more loved ones off the kidney transplant waitlist.

Are you with me?

Please consider supporting my efforts with a generous donation.

Mr. Bean and I

Hello everyone, I was diagnosed on June 10, 2021, with stage 5 kidney failure. Up to that point in my life, I thought I had been a healthy person. I had gone for an annual check-up with blood work. The doctor called telling me I needed a transfusion, and to go to the ER. At the hospital, they ran more tests and I found out I was in end-stage kidney failure. In an instant, my life made a 180 and I was immediately put on hemodialysis. Later, I was switched to peritoneal dialysis, so I could get back to college. I was able to make it on the transplant list and started raising awareness about living donors while trying to find one for myself. Then my angel came and gave me my new kidney on August 9, 2022. I now am on the road to a much healthier life with my new kidney, but I still want to spread the word about living donation and bring awareness to kidney disease! As part of that effort, I have created a team and am hoping to raise money to help improve the lives of others with kidney disease.
