WHY I WALK I'm walking because too many families (like mine) are coping with this devastating chronic illness, and thousands more will face an unexpected kidney disease diagnosis in the year to come. My dad has lived with chronic kidney disease for years, and in recent months 'graduated' to the need for dialysis. However, great news...my sister was able to donate her kidney to dad, and he had his transplant on 10/21! Now they're both recovirng nicely, Thank goodness!!! It's because of the National Kidney Foundation my family has such a great story to tell.
